What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial massage improves health by relieving muscle tension, reducing stress, improving lymphatic drainage, increasing immune response and providing an increased sense of well-being.

Medical massage is outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem(s) the patient presents with a diagnosis and are administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment. It is also known as clinical massage or treatment massage.

What is integrated holistic remedial therapy treatment?

Over time, Yumi has developed her own unique massage style. In her integrated holistic remedial therapy treatments, she utilises a wide range of techniques including advanced soft tissue work, cupping, dry needling, principles of Eastern philosophy, and, when appropriate, tuning forks to support nervous system balance.

Her treatments focus on releasing resistance within the body, restoring natural balance, and deepening both physical and mental awareness. By helping clients tune in to what the body is communicating and its innate wisdom, Yumi supports the cultivation of mindful awareness for sustainable, long term wellbeing.

Through her extensive clinical experience, Yumi has developed a deep understanding of the powerful connection between the body and mind. This insight led her to further study psychosomatic therapy, expanding her understanding of how emotional patterns and personality traits can influence physical health. Her approach integrates hands on physical treatment with psychosomatic awareness, supporting clients to achieve both physical relief and mental balance.
