Tui na massage

Tui na is a form of therapeutic massage rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. The term “Tui na” translates to “push and grasp,” which illustrates the main techniques used in this practice. Tui na involves manipulation of the body’s soft tissues, muscles, and ligaments to balance the flow of Qi (vital energy) and to stimulate the meridian system, which is the pathway of Qi and blood flow in the body. Techniques include brushing, kneading, rolling, pressing, and rubbing on specific acupressure points to correct anatomical irregularities and alleviate health issues. Tui na is primarily used for treating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and certain non-musculoskeletal conditions. It’s often combined with other traditional Chinese medicine therapies like acupuncture, cupping, and Chinese herbal remedies.
