Traditional Thai massage

Traditional Thai massage is a therapeutic practice that originated in Thailand over 2,500 years ago. It combines acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. Unlike Western massage styles, no oils or lotions are used in Thai massage. Instead, the recipient remains clothed, and the treatment involves a series of movements that are similar to yogic stretching. The practitioner uses their hands, knees, legs, and feet to move the recipient into a series of yoga-like stretches and also applies deep muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure. Traditional Thai massage is typically performed on a padded mat on the floor to allow for full range of motion and maximum flexibility. It is used for relaxation, stress reduction, increased flexibility, and improved overall health and well-being.
