Sobada

Sobada” is a traditional form of Mexican healing practice that involves manual bodywork or massage. The term directly translates to “rubbing” in English. This therapeutic technique is used to manipulate the body’s soft tissues to address various health issues. Sobada is often used to treat musculoskeletal problems, digestive issues, and reproductive health concerns. Techniques used in sobada may include kneading, pressing, or stretching, and practitioners may also use herbal remedies in conjunction with the bodywork. The practice is typically handed down through generations within families and is usually performed in a non-clinical setting.
