Patchula is a nationally registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
She is deeply passionate about supporting women through the many cyclical stages of their life, from puberty to fertility, menopause and beyond. Her commitment to truly seeing and hearing her patients is shaped by her own experience with infertility, having undergone five years of IVF treatment to conceive her daughter. That journey gave her both a deep empathy for the emotional and physical challenges of fertility struggles and first-hand experience of what IVF protocols actually involve.
Through that time Patchula devoted herself to extensive study of Chinese medicine in the context of women’s health, and it remains where most of her continuing education goes today. It is the reason her consultations in this area are unhurried and detailed.
Patchula practises a classical style of Traditional East Asian Medicine (TEAM), combining gentle Japanese and Chinese acupuncture techniques. Every first appointment begins with a full case history, including pulse and tongue assessment, so that treatment is matched to you rather than to a protocol.
Patchula’s areas of interest include:
Puberty and early cycle health. Supporting teenagers through the changes of adolescence.
Preconception and IVF support. Many health practitioners recommend acupuncture as an adjunct treatment alongside IVF. Where that applies, Patchula works with the plan your fertility specialist has set.
Pregnancy and birth. Comfort through pregnancy, positioning, birth preparation and the postpartum period, including recovery after a caesarean.
Cycle symptoms. Heavy, painful or irregular periods, and the pain, fatigue and disruption that can accompany conditions such as endometriosis and PCOS, in consultation with your other treating practitioners.
Menopause. Sleep, hot flushes, restless legs, mood changes and brain fog.
Nervous system. Sleep, anxiety and restlessness.
