WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL TRAINING?
Functional training involves training the body for the activities performed in daily life be it physical tasks, occupational or sports specific tasks. It allows the body to train simple and/or complex motor activities with ease efficiency, strength and control.
Such training is commonly, but not limited to, multi-joint, multi-plane, multi-tempo exercises with moderate to high neurological demand. Functional training often using bodyweight or external loads as resistance whilst respecting the kinetic link principle (sequentially activated body segments).
Functional training caters for the physical needs and exercise requirements for each individual. What is functional for one person can be completely different to another. Our functional training programs incorporate the use of suspension training, resistance bands, swiss balls, kettlebells as well as barbell and bodyweight training.
